Giving is a vital part of our spiritual formation and maturity. It is an active expression of our faith. At Christ Community we recognize that all we have comes from God, he is our great provider, the source of everything. He has entrusted his wealth to us and calls on us to be good stewards. Whether it is in the form of finances, resources, talents, or time, the follower of Christ is called upon to give back to the Lord for he has richly blessed us.

Giving to Christ Community supports the mission and ministry of our church family. Your gifts are used to support our efforts to serve the people of Ridgefield by providing Sunday morning worship, community groups, and service opportunities throughout the community.

Giving Options


We offer several methods for giving at Christ Community:

Online Giving- The green button above allows online giving via checking account. Click on the button to be taken to the online giving page. Please note that the first time you use online giving you will be asked to set up an account. Want to use a credit or debit card? Check out our FAQs below…

Text-to-give- You can also send a text to give from your account. This feature lets you send a gift whenever and wherever you are. Do you like to give on Sunday morning during the service but like the convenience of sending the money without writing a check? Just text to 84321 with the dollar amount you would like to give! Just go into your account the first time and under “text-to-give” click learn more. Then choose “manage my number and payment information.”

Check or cash- You may also give using check or cash. Just grab an envelope on Sunday morning, put your name on the outside (so we can send you a statement for tax deduction), and place it in the basket when it comes around.

What is Online Giving?

Online giving is a way of giving that allows you to make direct transactions between your bank and the church without having to write checks.

Is Online Giving Secure?

Online giving is done through a third party service that encrypts your data to the highest security available. Christ Community does not receive your banking information so your account is secure.

What payment methods can I use?

You may use direct transfers from a bank account, either checking or savings.

How do I set up my bank account?

To make a gift using your bank account you will need to verify your account with STRIPE, our processing agent. There are a couple of ways this can happen:

  1. Logging into your account through the web portal. If you bank with a large institution (Chase, Wells Fargo, US Bank, etc) you can log into your account on the bank account page and link your account to your profile.
  2. If you bank with a smaller institution or prefer a different method, you may use a process called “micro deposit.” In this method you will provide the information normally contained on your check- bank routing number and account number. Our processing agent, STRIPE, will make two small deposits into your account (totaling less that $1) and then remove them. This tells them your account is active. It usually only takes a couple of days. You will need to check your account for those two deposits, return to your profile page, and enter the amounts. Your account will now be confirmed. Do not fear, it is very simple, and as secure as writing a check!

Can I use a credit card?

At this time we do not take credit cards. We understand that many people utilize credit cards for regular transactions but the fees for credit card processing are just too high. Debit cards are treated the same as credit cards, it costs a lot more to process a card!

Does Online Giving cost money?

The transaction for online giving is free to the giver. The church does incur a small fee of $0.25 per transaction. The fee is incredibly small and we think it is worth the trade-off! This is why we do not take credit or debit cards though, their fees are $0.30 PLUS 2.3% of the transaction which can really add up!

Can I make a one-time contribution?

With online giving YOU are in control! Start whenever you want, stop whenever you want! Give a single time or set up a recurring transaction. Have a recurring transaction already set-up but want to give to a specific offering (such as Christmas Eve)? Log in to your account and add an extra gift!

Can I make a recurring contribution?

ABSOLUTELY! We recognize that online giving is not for everyone but we also know that many like the convenience of setting a regular payment. Just choose the recurring payment option on the website and set when and how often you would like the transaction to take place. It is THAT easy!

Do I need to set up an account?

We certainly recommend it. You will find it a lot easier to manage your giving and you will have access to your history, be able to save your payment information, be able to update your personal information (email, phone number, etc), and manage your recurring gifts. Your account is automatically set up when you make your first transaction. It is linked to your email which is what you will need to login in the future.

Why don’t I have a password?

Financial transactions are very sensitive and we want to be sure yours are secure. Instead of passwords you will be able to access your account by a login link sent to your email. Why use this method? Isn’t it slower? While it is true that it will take a few extra moments and require that you check your email for the link, it is far more secure than a password.

Can I see my giving history?

You certainly can! Just log into your account and you will see a record of gifts, scheduled recurring donations, payment methods, and more. You will also receive an email confirmation each time you make a gift.

What Funds are available? Do you have a building or missions fund?

At Christ Community we only have one fund. All contributions go into our general fund to be used where they are needed most. We do not offer giving to specific areas for general tithing. If you would like to make a gift to a specific purpose that is beyond normal monthly giving, please contact the office. We’d love to talk with you!

Can I save my payment information so I don’t have to enter it each time?

Absolutely. Just check the box at the bottom of the page where it says “save payment method to my user profile.” Not comfortable with your information being retained? Just leave that box unchecked. You will be asked each time to enter your information.

Do I have to use online giving? Can I still give by cash or check?

You can always give by cash or check. Just grab an envelope from the blue buckets at the end of the rows on Sunday morning, write your name on the outside (so we can give you credit for your gift) and drop them in the offering basket when it comes around.

How is my money used?

All gifts to Christ Community are used to support the mission and ministry of the church. This includes salary for staff, rent for facilities, support for our district in the LCMS, and support of various needs around the community. Funds also go to purchase materials for community group studies, message series, outreach, and much more.
