Standing In God’s Glory

Some thoughts from Pastor Eli following his vacation:

Greetings Christ Community! While we had a great time on vacation, it is really good to be home! You were all in my prayers while we were traveling and I am grateful for all who prayed for our safe travels.

This was an amazing time of refreshing for us and it provided some wonderful opportunities for me to contemplate the amazing works of our Lord. King David writes in Psalm 145:5-6 “On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate. They shall speak of the might of your awesome deeds, and I will declare your greatness.” These couple of poetic lines perfectly sum up what I experienced during our travels. To stand in absolute peace and observe the majesty of God’s creation all around me was to the point of overwhelming. I find that words are inadequate to express the fullness of His presence contained within the breadth of His creation. King David declares that God can and is known through observation of the world around us, it was created at His command and declares His glory with each stir of the wind. It is not the fuller revelation that we get through Scripture but it is fully sufficient to make us aware of His presence. I was reminded on this journey that it is important to take the time to stop and seek God through His creation, to hear His voice in the rustling of the trees, to be aware of His nearness in the gentle patter of the raindrops or the embrace of the sun. It is good for us to, as King David says, meditate on His wondrous works for in those works He is made known. All praise and honor and glory be to the God of heaven and earth! May your minds take notice of His amazing works, and may your hearts sing with the joy of His presence.
