To develop a friendship with people. Especially those that believe in the same thing as you.

Let’s do an activity of fellowship so we can get to know each other a little bit better.

Activity: Fellowship Game

Supplies:

Ball with questions on it

Have the children sit in one or two circles, if there are a lot of children, and pass the ball back and forth. Where their thumbs land they have to answer that question.

Discussion:

Did you hear anyone’s answer that surprised you?

Were there any questions that were hard to answer?

Getting to know people is very important. It allows us to develop that fellowship and sense of community we, as Christians, need to help grow our faith.

Let’s watch a video to dive a bit deeper on what it means to be a Christian.

Discussion: Who can tell me what the “Trues” are that 1 John is going to tell us about?

True Living
True Teaching
 True Loving

.

Why do we believe John and his disciples in what they are telling us?

Because they were the ones to see, touch and talk with Jesus.

What is “joy”?
The best kind of happy. It last much longer than sugar-happy.

Now let’s do an activity on spreading joy.

Activity: Spread Joy

Supplies:
Funny videos on computer

Sticky notes with the word ‘joy’ written on them

First have the kids each get a stack of sticky notes. Have them run around and try to put the sticky notes on the other children. This is them spreading ‘joy’.  After they are done have them sit back down and try and not to laugh as they watch silly animal videos.

Closing: What is something you learned today?

Pray.
