The story of Saul is one of rise and fall, success and failure- but the events that lead to Saul's appearance are the overarching theme of his reign. Saul is the direct result of God giving a hard-headed people exactly what they think they want. When we are discontent with God's good blessings, sometimes it takes discomfort and difficulty for us to remember that God is always working for our good.
