Last Things First

The month of December is all about the focus on Christmas. We decorate our houses, we plan meals and family gatherings, and we get ready to remember and celebrate the birth of Jesus. But traditionally the season of Advent looks first, not towards the manger but towards the clouds as we anticipate Christ's return. We put the last things first and begin with the end of the story rather than the beginning and the message is this- be prepared, stay on guard, keep watch for the Lord is coming.
