The world is loud and sometimes the idea of silence seems pretty peaceful, we would be happy if things just got a bit quieter. But true silence is distressing, it makes us anxious and afraid- absolute silence makes us feel like we are alone. Israel felt alone as they struggled in Egypt, they felt as though God was distant and didn't see or hear their plight but God wasn't far, in fact he was right in the middle of everything bringing about salvation. You are not alone either, even if you can't see him, God is with you in the midst of whatever you are dealing with.
