Managing Expectations

Have you ever waited in anticipation for something only to have it not turn out the way you expected? How did you feel? Sad? Disappointed? Maybe angry? On Palm Sunday as Jesus entered Jerusalem for the Passover, a lot of people expected that their expectation of a conquering king was finally at hand only to be disappointed when Jesus turned out not to be what they were looking for. When we try to make Jesus fit our expectations we wind up frustrated because he will not be bound to who we want him to be.
