Open Positions
Christ Community is hiring for the following positions:
1. Worship Leader- The Worship Leader will be responsible for leading the congregation in musical worship on Sunday mornings. This person will have a demonstrated ability to lead both spiritually and musically including both lead vocals and a lead instrument (preferably lead guitar or keys). In addition, this person will also be tasked with planning, developing new music, and providing leadership for the rest of the team. This commitment will be approximately 5-6 hours/wk with actual Sunday morning leadership occurring 3 Sundays each month (3 hour commitment on Sunday). Two extra services are expected as well- Good Friday and Christmas Eve. In months with 5 Sundays an extra week will be expected but will be compensated at an additional amount. The candidate will exhibit a strong Christian background and have a professed faith in Jesus Christ. Christ Community is a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and adheres to all doctrinal stances of the LCMS. The candidate does not need to be LCMS but must agree to abide by the constitution and by-laws of both Christ Community and the LCMS and lead according to the faith values of this church body. This position comes with a monthly salary of $1000/mo.
2. Worship Team- There are two positions available on the worship team. The preferred candidate will be accomplished at playing either bass, keys or guitar (keys or guitar will be subject to the instrument played by the worship leader, ie. there is no need for two guitars or two keyboards). Ability to add vocals is highly preferred. These positions have a 3 hour per week commitment on Sunday morning, 3 times/month. Two extra services are expected as well- Good Friday and Christmas Eve. In months with 5 Sundays an extra week will be expected but will be compensated at an additional amount. The position includes the expectation that music provided by the leader will be reviewed prior to pre-service rehearsal on Sunday morning. The candidate will exhibit a strong Christian background and have a professed faith in Jesus Christ. Christ Community is a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and adheres to all doctrinal stances of the LCMS. The candidate does not need to be LCMS but must agree to abide by the constitution and by-laws of both Christ Community and the LCMS and lead according to the faith values of this church body. This position comes with a monthly salary of $400/mo.
3. Director of Youth & Families- The DoYF is responsible for leading ministry to youth and children under the age of 18. This position includes oversight of the Sunday morning children's ministry including planning weekly lessons, organizing volunteers and occasionally teaching Sunday School. In addition, this person will develop and lead middle and high school youth. Currently this involves meeting each group twice/mo on Sunday evenings (middle and high meet separately so this is a 4x/mo commitment). Tasks also include leading service events, activities (such as the pumpkin patch in the fall, summer camping trip, service opportunities, etc). The DoYF will work closely with the pastor to coordinate and implement these ministries as well as help plan general church direction. There is also an understanding that the duties of this position ebb and flow with times of great activity and times of little activity. The position is based on 15 hours/wk but flexibility is needed as some weeks may be more than 15 hours and other weeks will be less to compensate. The candidate will exhibit a strong Christian background and have a professed faith in Jesus Christ. Christ Community is a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and adheres to all doctrinal stances of the LCMS. The candidate does not need to be LCMS but must agree to abide by the constitution and by-laws of both Christ Community and the LCMS and lead according to the faith values of this church body. This position comes with a monthly salary of $24,000/yr.
